Teaching beginners ... again

I’ve recently starting teaching lampworking at Lill Street Art Center in Chicago. It’s been awhile since I’ve done any teaching but I realize after having done only two classes so far that I really enjoy it and have missed it. My first session is a 5 week beginning beadmaking class. It is exciting to see a new beadmaker “get it” when learning to shape a round bead with puckery ends, pull a twistie or apply a row of even dots. It’s inspirational and reminds me that I do have some skill when my inner voice might tell me otherwise. I plan to continue to share the beadmaking process with others and to learn as much from them as they learn from me. Let’s all go melt some glass!
